Joint Care & Recovery

Recovery Support™

Recovery Support™ is formulated to support horses during injury recovery periods. High in natural anti-inflammatories, antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids, this formula supports blood flow, collagen synthesis, management of oxidative stress and skin health.

Nutritional Info

A healthy blood flow is essential for cellular energy production (ATP) and the delivery of nutrients to the cells supporting cellular function, new cell generation, protein synthesis, and tissue repair.

Vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen synthesis providing the scaffold for healthy tissue.

Can be fed as part of a short or long-term recovery plan.

L-Arginine

L-Arginine is converted in the body into Nitric Oxide(NO). Nitric Oxide causes blood vessels to open wider for improved blood flow. Better circulation means more oxygen and nutrients can reach injured tissues. As a building block for protein and collagen, L-Arginine can help support muscle, tendon, ligament, and skin repair.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen, a key protein in tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and skin. Proper collagen formation is crucial for tissue repair following injury.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon contains the compounds polyphenols which have natural anti-inflammatory properties, an important process of supporting a horse during recovery. Cinnamon also has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties, ideal for the after care of wounds.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, that plays a critical role in neutralising free radicals and managing oxidative stress which is particularly relevant for horses recovering from injury. Vitamin E is an important nutrient that supports muscle health and protects cell membranes.

FAQs

What’s the difference between Recovery Support™ and Soft Tissue Support™?

Recovery support™ is formulated to provide blood flow and collagen synthesis. Ideal for using post injury to support healthy circulation and delivery of nutrients.

Soft Tissue Support™ is aimed at horses in high intensity work load where the health of the tendons & ligaments is essential or who are needing support during or after soft tissue injury rehabilitation.

Recovery Support™ has a much higher percentage of the amino acid, L-Arginine than Soft Tissue Support™. L-Arginine is converted in the body into Nitric Oxide(NO). Nitric Oxide causes blood vessels to open wider for improved blood flow. Better circulation results in more oxygen and nutrients reaching damaged tissues. We recommend combining these two products together for the initial month post injury.

We would always recommend consulting your vet first if you are concerned about your horses injury.

How long should my horse stay on Recovery Support™ for?

You can feed Recovery Support™ as part of a short or long-term feeding plan.

Should I split the daily amount over two feeds?

It is recommended that your horse is fed its maintenance amount in one feed – do not split over two feeds. To find out your horse’s daily requirements, see the feeding guidelines.

For loading doses (the first 3-5 days of feeding), feed the required amount twice daily.

I’m not sure my horse will eat it?

Samples are available so that you can ensure your horse is happy to eat it. Just call one of the team on 01184 676715 to discuss.
