Nutritional Info

MSM

MSM provides sulphur, which is crucial for collagen and connective tissue synthesis. This supports the structure of cartilage, tendons, and ligaments in the joints. MSM helps combat oxidative stress, which is often elevated in horses undergoing heavy exercise or suffering from joint disease.

Glucosamine – 6.75g per scoop

Glucosamine is a key building block of cartilage, the connective tissue that cushions joints. It helps maintain healthy cartilage and slow its breakdown. As horses age, their natural glucosamine production declines, leading to slower cartilage repair and increased wear, Glucosamine helps keep joints and cartilage lubricated.

Boswellia – 4g per scoop

The primary active compounds of Boswellia are Boswellic acids, which support natural anti-inflammatory pathways in the body. Boswellia benefits cartilage, tendons and ligaments making it useful for horses in recovery, hard work or old age.

Chondroitin – 2.5g per scoop

Chondroitin Sulphate is a naturally occurring compound found in cartilage playing a key role in maintaining healthy joints. Chondroitin also helps retain water within cartilage, improving its shock-absorbing capacity and reducing joint friction.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in the body, especially concentrated in synovial fluid and cartilage. It is highly effective for joint health, contributing to targeting inflammation and supporting lubrication in the joints. By increasing joint fluid, HA acts as a natural shock absorber, protecting bones and cartilage during movement and impact.

FAQs

What are the signs of joint discomfort?

It could show itself in many ways including stiffness – especially after rest, a shortened or uneven stride, lameness or irregular gait and swelling or heat around joints.

How long should my horse stay on Supple Xtra™?

Joint damage is progressive, especially as horses age, when their natural glucosamine production declines, leading to slower cartilage repair and increased wear. For this reason, it is best to feed Supple Xtra™ as part of a long-term feeding plan.

What’s the difference between Supple Xtra™, Soft Tissue Support™ and Bute-EZ™?

Supple Xtra™ is fed to maintain healthy joints.

Soft Tissue Support™ is used to support the health of tendons & ligaments and for the recovery of soft tissue injuries.

Bute-EZ™ is a natural anti-inflammatory for horses who require ongoing support, those on box rest or the veteran horse to help maintain ease of movement.

Should I split the daily amount over two feeds?

It is recommended that your horse is fed its maintenance amount in one feed – do not split over two feeds. To find out your horse’s daily requirements, see the feeding guidelines.

For loading doses (the first 3-5 days of feeding), feed the required amount twice daily.

I’m not sure my horse will eat it?

Palatability samples are available on our website, so that you can ensure your horse is happy to eat it.

    Fantastic results

Both of my horses have just had to a mandatory 6 weeks box rest isolation. So when I brought them both out of their stables yesterday I expected to see some level of stiffness in their movement and was extremely pleased to see they were both moving as though they had been working every day! They’ve walked out this morning and expected to see some stiffness after their antics yesterday but again they have none!

    Worked wonders

My little welsh section A has arthritis and I can seriously say this has helped loosen her up. She has been with me 14yrs and developed arthritis aged 10. Since using this she’s loosen up and looks a lot happier day to day.

I chose Supple Xtra as I trust in the products from Equine Exceed. Choosing a supplement to do the best by your horse is not an easy choice but it was with Supple Xtra. I wanted peace of mind that I was doing everything to keep my horse competing at his very best and I know I have that in this product, thank you
